In order to make Headspace more accessible to our community, we recently released captions for some content in-app. Haptic assistance will also be available for select content to further help out our members.
In order to use the closed captions and haptic assistance, you will need to make sure you are on the most updated version of the app and using the app in English. We know the desire to use this feature in other languages, so we hope to release it sometime in the future.
Once you select a course to play, simply tap the settings icon that appears on the screen. If closed captions and haptic assistance are available, you can turn them on/off there. If you're still not seeing it, try a quick relaunch of the app.
Please note that haptic assistance can only be turned on if closed captions are also turned on.
Captions will slowly be introduced to our content. So if your favorite content doesn't yet have the option for closed captions and haptic assistance, please continue to check back to see if it is updated.
Update as of 5/7/21:
Closed Captions are now available across ALL English content. This includes Everyday Headspace, our Move videos and even Sleepcasts. They can be managed from your device's system settings. See below:
- On iOS: Settings > Accessibility > Subtitles & Captioning
- On Android: Settings > Accessibility > Caption Preferences
