How long are coaching sessions?
Scheduled video sessions are 45 minutes. Scheduled text sessions are 30 minutes.
How do I schedule a session with a coach?
To schedule a session with a coach, you can open your app and navigate to the Care tab. From there, you can select the 'Coach' icon in your care team, or select the 'schedule a coaching session' tile at the bottom of your screen.
How many video coaching sessions do I get?
The number of sessions depends on your benefits package. In most cases, it matches the therapy session count in your plan. If you have no covered therapy sessions, you are allotted 12 covered video sessions.
I’ve had video coaching since early 2025—what happens on September 1?
If you were part of our hybrid video coaching offering, then on September 1, 2025 your video coaching sessions will reset to 12, no matter how many you’ve used so far this year. These 12 sessions will be available until your plan renews. After that, your video coaching benefit will update based on your plan.
What happens after my plan renews?
After your plan renews:
- If you also have access to therapy through Headspace, your number of video coaching sessions will match the number of therapy sessions in your plan.
- If you don’t have therapy included in your plan, you’ll continue to get 12 video coaching sessions each year.
Can I reschedule or cancel a session?
Yes. You must cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 48 hours before your appointment so we can make the time available to other members.
What happens if I miss a session?
Missed sessions (including joining 15 mins after your session start time) will count toward your annual session limit. We suggest rescheduling in advance if something comes up.
Will I get reminders for my sessions?
Yes. You’ll receive a secure link and reminder via email or in-app notification before your session starts.
How will I be billed for my allotted video coaching?
Video coaching is included at no additional cost as part of your Headspace benefit for your included video sessions.
What are the hours video coaches are available?
Video coaches are available daily from 6:00am-11:59am PT, with additional overnight support from 10:00pm- 8:00am PT.
What should I do if I want to switch to text-based coaching after exhausting my allotted video sessions?
Reach out to Member Support in the app or via email (caresupport@headspace.com) to switch to unlimited text-based coaching with a new lead coach.
